Meet Mark Ollerenshaw, our newest fundraiser. Mark, an ex army reservist now a Captain in the CCF is competing in the annual Smugglers Trod Challenge. This involves trekking 25 miles across the hills and rugged terrain of the North Yorkshire Moors.
Angela Madsen, Ocean Rower and Paralympian, will be setting off tomorrow Saturday 8th June from Santa Cruz on her solo row to Hawaii. Last minute preparations are underway and her boat ‘The Spirit of Orlando’ is loaded and ready to be put in the Ocean at Santa Cruz.
Saturday 8th June will see two of Orlando’s friends, Kitty and Kate, taking part in the Tough Mudder 12 mile hardcore obstacle course in London. Another event that would have been right up Orlando’s street. They will be raising funds for Orlando Rogers Foundation so if anyone would like to sponsor this insane effort please go ahead – all donations welcomed and appreciated. Angela Madsen, paraplegic, Paralympic medalist and veteran ocean rower is rowing solo from Santa Cruz, California to Hawaii in her boat “Spirit of Orlando”. She sets off very soon on the 8th June. Orlando and Angela became friends in 2007 when both rowed the Atlantic Ocean. This time, Angela is raising funds for Military Veterans and the Orlando Rogers Foundation.
A tremendous effort by Ben Lewis who kindly ran the Paris Marathon to raise funds for Orlando’s charity. To accomplish a time of under four hours on a first full marathon is a great achievement.
