Angela Madsen the paraplegic woman who circumnavigated Great Britain in 2010 will be performing an extreme rowing project in support of The Orlando Rogers Foundation!
How the boat became “The Spirit of Orlando”
Spirited Adventurer and friend Orlando Rogers was tragically killed in a plane crash on May 15th 2011. He was 26 years of age and was a Royal Marine. I met Orlando when Rowing the Atlantic. We remained friends and supported each other in various projects. I was saddened by the news of his passing but inspired to attempt this row!
I am authorizing The Orlando Rogers Foundation to make a fundraising pledge page of my project to raise money in the UK for their organization.
(This project may represent multiple charities and organizations however the Orlando Rogers Foundation is the only UK based organization that has my authorization)
The Date: May 15, 2014 the 3rd anniversary of Orlando’s passing : Estimated days at sea 50-57
The Boat: a mono hull ocean rowing vessel “The Spirit of Orlando”
The Route: Long Beach, California to Waikiki, Oahu Hawaii
